Detailed Financing Information

Regarding home energy upgrading, the financing covers:

  • Energy upgrading of a residence leading to an improvement of at least one energy class (final ≥ B) or energy savings of at least 30% compared to the initial (excluding RES) Selected home equipment (e.g., insulations, cooling/heating systems, window replacements)
  • Investments in RES (Photovoltaic systems, home wind turbines, geothermal, etc.)

As for Electrification, financed are:

  • The purchase of a new technology, zero-emission vehicle, electric or hydrogen
  • The purchase of zero-emission bicycles/scooters/e-scooters

You're eligible to borrow from €300 to €30,000. 
Loan repayments are made in amortizing installments each month, beginning one month post the loan issuance date. Your installment is due on the same date monthly, directly debited from the account you have established or will establish at the National Bank of Greece. 
To ensure you're always up-to-date regarding your outstanding installments, current interest rate, and principal balance, you can leverage the “statements” service within Digital Banking. This allows for the receipt of your electronic notification, along with an email alert upon its issuance. Alternatively, opting for the postal service can ensure a monthly notification delivery. 

The interest rate is variable, anchored to the Euribor 3M plus an additional 2% margin.

A 2% discount on the comparable non-guaranteed Green Loan provided by the Bank is accessible, courtesy of the European Investment Fund (EIF) guarantee. This discount is contingent upon the timely submission, within one month (e-mobility)/quarter (energy upgrade) from the loan's disbursement, of documents verifying the loan's utilization for its intended eco-friendly purpose. Examples include an Energy Performance Certificate, paid invoices, or a registration for a zero-emission vehicle. Note that the variable rate is subject to fluctuations with the base rate changes, potentially affecting your installment amounts. Furthermore, the loan interest includes a 0.60% contribution as per Law 128/75.

Before you start

Required documentation

To get the loan you want, you need to notify us of your personal details. Depending on your nationality, we will need your ID card, passport, and/or valid foreigner's residence permit.

Income verification

You get a loan with the obligation to repay it. So, we will need your income tax statements for the last three years and documentation certifying your professional status, such as employer's certificate and/or a copy of the latest salary statement and document evidencing your VAT status. If you're a pensioner, you need to submit your latest pension payment slip.

You will also need to submit property ownership documentation (ENFIA property tax clearance certificate or a printout of no property ownership status).

Merchant vouchers

To get a Green loan, you need to submit vouchers, pro-forma invoices, or a formal offer from a merchant evidencing the nature of the work to be done and the cost and type of products to be bought. 

About your loan application

Your first visit

You need to visit one of our branches and submit the necessary documentation and your application to start the process.  

Next steps

If your application is approved, you can visit your NBG branch to sign the contract, and then we will disburse the loan amount to your account.

i-bank statements

Once the loan amount is disbursed to your account, you can register for i-bank statements and get an email each time a loan statement is issued.
