The floating rate also includes the levy required under Law 128/75, currently 0.12%.

You can also opt for Borrower/Guarantor Life insurance. Ethniki Insurance undertakes to pay up the remaining loan balance in the event of the borrower’s and/or guarantor’s death due to illness or accident during the loan repayment period. This insurance coverage is optional and offered at a very low cost.
The distribution of the insurance plans is provided solely by qualified NBG staff certified in insurance intermediation services. The insurance plans have been set up by Ethniki General Insurance and are distributed by the branch network of National Bank of Greece SA, 86 Eolou, 10559 Athens, Company Reg. No.: 311481. The Bank is registered with the Special Register of Athens Chamber of Tradesmen under Reg. No. 1028 as an insurance agent.
The loan is disbursed in up to three installments, following controls performed by an engineer in partnership with the Bank.
1st installment (advance payment): up to 30% of the loan amount, finalized after an engineer in partnership with the Bank reviews the fair cost of works.
2nd installment (optional): up to 30% of the loan amount, disbursed once the engineer verifies that all the works financed with the first installment are concluded.
3rd installment: disbursed once the works at the financed residence have been completed and certified by the engineer.

Loan ConditionsYou need to visit one of our branches and submit the necessary documentation and your application to start the process. For you to be better prepared, we will give you the Works Budget Form, which you will need to complete and bring back to use detailing all works and the associated costs.
If your application is preapproved, we will contact you to notify you and ask you to bring the completed Works Budget Form and a copy of your latest property ownership title. Based on those documents an engineer in partnership with the Bank will review your budget to ensure the fair cost of works and verify the legal status of the property. Before the verification procedures take place, all relevant expenses should be paid in full.
