NBG, in its capacity as a Clearing Member of HELEX, ensures that the clearing of transactions in ATHEX is carried out through the HELEX clearing system. NBG receives and transmits your trading orders to be executed by NBG Securities. Stock trades are cleared by NBG securely and quickly, through the deposit account linked to your investment portfolio as per your instructions. 

For the purchase of ATHEX and Cyprus Stock Exchange shares, the relevant amount is blocked in your bank account and disbursed on the clearing day, i.e. two days following the execution of your order. 

When selling ATHEX and CSE shares, the relevant amounts are automatically credited to your bank account on the transaction clearing day, 2 business days following the execution of your order. 

Specifically, you can get updates: 

• by post or e-mail whenever your instructions to sell/buy are carried out. 
• by visiting any NBG branch. 
• on current stock prices through the daily press. 
• by means of quarterly statements of financial instruments sent to your contact address or via e-mail. 
• by signing up for our Internet and Mobile Banking services.  

To trade shares on ATHEX and the Cyprus Stock Exchange you need to hold an Investor Account and/or securities account in the HELEX Dematerialized Securities Systems.Additionally, you need to hold a demand deposit account with NBG, for the purpose of clearing transactions.
