We celebrated the launch of Smart Attica European Digital Innovation Hub
On Tuesday 31 January, at the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, the kick-off meeting of Smart Attica European Digital Innovation Hub took place ceremoniously with a large number of speakers from the political and business community. Its subject matter is the digital transformation of Attica, with emphasis on the fields of Energy and Environment, Supply Chain and Mobility, Culture and Tourism.
National Bank of Greece through its Business Seeds program participates in the hub as head of the Investment sector, while it is also a member of the Executive Committee of the project.
Smart Attica, in line with the European Digital Innovation Hubs network, aims at supporting SMEs and public sector bodies in their digital transformation, providing services based on the hub's expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, High Performance Computing applications, 5G technology and Cybersecurity.
The Hub will cooperate with Greek corporations and bodies, as well as with relevant European digital innovation hubs. The kick-off meeting was also attended by the Associate partners of the hub, i.e. representatives of businesses and bodies that have entered into a memorandum of cooperation with the project, including so far (in alphabetical order): AI Catalyst, Anavathmisi, Archeiothiki, cognitiv+, 8bells, EYZHN, FEAC Engineering, Future Intelligence, Fuelics, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Linked Business, m-hospitality, Motor Oil, Nomiki Bibliothiki, PlanBe, SciFY, ΣΕΚΕΕ, Vodafone. In the context of this event, hub partners and associated bodies had the opportunity of meeting and networking, and the foundations were laid for the beginning of their cooperation.
Smart Attica EDIH partners are: the National Centre for Scientific Research “Demokritos”, National Bank of Greece,Found.ation, the Athena Research Center, the Athens University of Economics and Business, the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems of the National Technical University of Athens, the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the National Infrastructures for Research and Technology, the National Technical University of Athens, the National Documentation Centre, the Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations (Growthfund), the Onassis Foundation, the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, the Athens Development and Destination Management Agency, the Regional Development Fund of Attica and the Uni.Fund Venture Capital Management Company.
The Smart Attica hub has been approved by the European Commission along with 135 other hubs, participates in the innovation network of the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs), and is co-funded by the “Digital Europe 2021-2027” program.
