Participating in Piraeus Blue Hackathon Day
Continuing our actions aimed at enhancing business extroversion and support for the innovation ecosystem, we were delighted to participate in the "Piraeus Blue Hackathon Day”, in "Sea Days 2022", held for the seventh consecutive year.
The competition was organized by the Municipality of Piraeus, in collaboration with the University of Piraeus and the StartUPiraeus Center of the Municipality of Piraeus. The event was held live on 1st June at the University of Piraeus.
Executive officers of NBG’s Business Innovation Development Subdivision participated in the opening proceedings with a presentation of the NBG Business Seeds program, while also providing mentoring to the teams and taking part in the panel of judges.
Μentoring took place over two days, the first being on May 20th at Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) and the second at the University of Piraeus on June 1st.
The event was held in the context of Sea Days and the BluAct European project which is part of the URBACT program, with the Municipality of Piraeus being a lead partner.
This year's competition was attended by 24 teams, whose focus was on sustainable shipping, city –port transport - sustainable mobility, sustainable coastal and marine tourism, sustainable fisheries and marine biotechnology, climate change and energy saving and digital transformation of the sustainable blue economy.
The NBG Business Seeds Award went to Seamorphosis, a company that aims to detect, evaluate and monitor in real time aquatic environment pollution, e.g. sea and river pollution, using innovative systems.
