With 300 participants, 45 speakers, 7 panels, and lasting 7 hours in total, the 1st big international Greek Fintech Hub came to a successful conclusion.
The conference was held on Friday, October 21, at 10:00, in the Karatzas Building, one of the most emblematic NBG buildings.
The event was opened by Mr Gikas Hardouvelis, Chair of NBG Board, who noted that “The Greek Fintech Hub is a key initiative established in 2020 by National Bank of Greece, Endeavor and other partners and institutions, promoting change and innovation in Greece.
Through the participation of international, European and domestic partners and businesses, we aim at encouraging dialogue, interaction and networking, by placing emphasis on fields such as tourism, research, the arts and creative industries”.

Mr Anthony Papadimitriou, President of the Onassis Foundation, Mr Ioannis Tsakiris, Deputy Minister of Development and Investments, and Ms Eva Kaili, Vice President of the European Parliament, addressed the meeting. Ms Kaili stated: "The covid crisis made the significance of digital transformation clear. All industries should prioritize developing a digital strategy, and we are working hard to hasten this process. Additionally, Greeks are innovators, and inventions are the key to releasing the full potential of technology."
Ms Christina Theofilidi, General Manager of NBG Retail Banking, attended the meeting as an official guest, and remarked: “In the conference, European and international partners came closer to Greek Fintech initiatives, thereby fostering and enhancing the prospects for networking and collaboration. Special emphasis was placed on the financial sector, and we were very glad to watch the panel with women who have excelled in fintech at the international level.”
