Dimitris Karydas serves as Assistant General Manager for Private Investing & Regulatory Affairs at National Bank of Greece, where he leads the Bank’s private markets investment activities, with responsibility for investment strategy, strategic asset allocation, portfolio construction, fund selection, due diligence and portfolio monitoring across Private Equity, Venture Capital, Private Credit, Real Estate and Infrastructure. He also serves on multiple private fund Advisory Committees and represents NBG in key institutional relationships, including with the European Investment Fund.

Alongside his investment responsibilities, he heads Group Regulatory Affairs, leading prudential regulatory strategy and senior-level engagement with European supervisory and resolution authorities. He has also held senior roles in the CEO and Deputy CEO Offices, where he led major strategic initiatives and transactions, including the disposal of a multi-billion non-performing loan portfolio and the divestment of NBG’s largest foreign subsidiary bank.

Dimitris joined NBG in 2010. He began his career in London in Strategy and Valuation Advisory with PA Consulting and PwC before moving to sell-side Equity Research at Citi, where he covered Valuation & Accounting and the European Metals & Mining sector. He was part of a research team ranked No. 1 in Europe in the Institutional Investor survey and was personally ranked 5th among European analysts.

He is a CFA charterholder and served as President of CFA Society Greece for two consecutive terms. He holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting & Finance from Lancaster University and an MSc in Finance, with Distinction, from Bayes Business School. He has also completed executive programmes in Private Markets Investing at The Wharton School and VC Investing at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
