Dimitrios Karydas
Dimitris Karydas currently serves as Assistant General Manager for Private Investing & Regulatory Affairs, where he leads investment strategy, strategic asset allocation, and multi-asset private capital portfolio construction spanning private equity, venture capital, real estate, and infrastructure. He oversees fund selection, due diligence, and performance monitoring and serves on multiple private fund Advisory Committees.
In parallel, he heads Group Regulatory Affairs, leading prudential regulatory strategy and senior-level engagement with European supervisory and resolution authorities, including the SSM and SRB. He has led major group-wide initiatives spanning SREP coordination, On-Site Inspections (OSIs), and Resolvability and Crisis-Preparedness frameworks. He joined NBG in 2010 and earlier in his career he held senior roles as the Head of CEO and Deputy CEO office, where he led complex transactions, including a large-scale NPL portfolio disposal and a cross-border subsidiary Bank divestment.
He began his career in 2001 in London in Strategy and Valuation Advisory with PA Consulting and PwC. He then moved to sell-side Equity Research at Citi, publishing extensively on Valuation & Accounting themes and then covering the Metals & Mining sector. He was highly ranked in the European Institutional Investor surveys.
He is a CFA charterholder and served as President of CFA Society Greece for two consecutive terms. He is also a member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council, an opt-in research community of business professionals.
He holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting & Finance from Lancaster University and an MSc Finance (distinction) from Bayes Business School in London. He successfully completed the Private Equity Certificate Program from The Wharton School – University of Pennsylvania.
