The payments app for the mobile age is here.
With NBG's i-bank Pay you can now carry out your daily transactions simply and quickly via your mobile phone, without having to know bank account numbers.

Download now the app to carry out your everyday payments and instantly transfer funds to or split expenses with your friends:

                                             

  • for smartphones or tablets with Android (version 4.0.3 and up) or iOS (version 8 and up)
  • to use i-bank Pay you need to be a registered user of the NBG i-bank Internet Banking or holder of    
        an NBG  (prepaid) Visa
With i-bank Pay you can transfer money to your friends or make payments to more than 40,000 sales points such as retail stores, cafes, supermarkets, kiosks, even delivery services that display the i-bank Pay or i-bank POS logo. Scan the QR code print out by the Business's i-bank POS, or hold your mobile phone close to the merchant's mobile (provided he has downloaded the i-bank Pay 4B app) or to the i-bank connector device linked to the cash register.
Now, you can transfer money to your friends or make payments to businesses from one bank to another bank, provided they use the IRIS Online Payments service through their bank.

The IRIS Online Payments service provides immediate fund transfers.

Via i-bank Pay, you can also make donations to Benefit Foundations, Bodies and Organizations, selecting actions for people in need, and sending the amount you wish to donate in just one-click. 

Also note that: by using i-bank Pay you can build up your tax threshold!

  • Download the i-bank Pay app and enter the UserID and Password you already have as a registered
          user of i-bank Internet Banking, or the details of your NBG Prepaid Card
  • Link your phone number and/or your Facebook profile to one of your deposit accounts already
          linked to the i-bank Internet Banking or your NBG prepaid card
  • Instantly send money to your friends through your phone contact list or your friends list on
          Facebook or just enter their mobile number, using the IRIS Online Payments service
  • Carry out payments at merchants and businesses without cash or card simply by using your mobile
          phone:
      • at the merchant's or the professional's mobile device, which has been registered
            with the i-bank Pay 4B service
      • scanning the QR code from the merchant's or the professional's i-bank POS device
      • at the cash register device and the i-bank Connector device
      • entering the merchant's TIN or phone number using the IRIS Online Payments service
      • Transfers and payments through IRIS Online Payments cannot be performed in the
            case of link-up of link-up of i-bank Pay with a Prepaid card.

    Amount limits, with or without the use of i-code, that apply to fund transfers to friends and payments to businesses:

    Without the use of i-code

    maximum transfer limit to a friend: 
     

    • up to €25 per transaction 
    • up to €75 per day


    maximum transfer limit to a business:

    • up to €75 per transaction
    • up to €225 per day

    With the use of i-code 

    to a friend:

    • Transfer limit from €25.01 to €500
    • Maximum daily transfer limit €500 


    to a business:
     

    • Transfer limit from € 75.01 to €500
    • Maximum daily transfer limit € 500

    Maximum daily limit to both businesses and friends: €500

Transfer money to your friends

First, find your friend from your phone contacts or from your Facebook friend list:

  • i-bank Pay displays your friends using the IRIS Online Payments service regardless of their home 
        bank
  • Select the friend you wish to pay, enter the amount and the reason, hit "Send" and the app
        transfers the amount instantly to your friend's account. Select "Request" to request money from
        your friend. When your friend accepts your request, he must follow the procedure described above
        for the transfer of funds

Payments at businesses (merchants and professionals)

Forget cash: Use the contactless option when making payments to merchants and businesses!

You can make your payments in four different ways simply by holding your mobile phone close to:

1.  The merchant's/professional's i-bank POS device

  • The merchant/professional enters the payment amount in the NBG POS. The device then prints out
        the QR code
  • Tap on the "Payment QR Code" icon in i-bank Pay
  • You can accept or reject the payment
  • The transaction is completed once the QR code is scanned and the transaction amount
        confirmed/approved

You must have internet access (either wifi or 3G/4G) on your mobile phone.                                                         The charges of the mobile phone provider apply.

2.  The merchant's mobile device (phone or tablet)

  • The merchant sends you a payment request via i-bank Pay 4B and waits for your approval
  • You can accept or reject the payment
  • Your transaction is completed upon your approval of the payment
  • To perform your payments the merchant/professional needs to be an i-bank Internet Banking user
        and to have downloaded and activated the i-bank Pay 4B app

The devices communicate via bluetooth, which must be turned on, on both devices (customer's and merchant's) and both devices must have internet access (either wifi or 3G/4G).
The charges of the mobile phone provider apply.

3.  The merchant's i-bank Connector device

  • The merchant/professional enters the payment amount in his cash register which is connected to
        the i-bank Connector device
  • Tap on "Contactless payment" icon
  • With bluetooth turned on, hold your mobile phone close to the merchant's i-bank Connector device
        so that it is updated with the payment amount
  • You can accept or reject the payment
  • Your transaction is completed upon your approval of the payment

4. NEW WAY TO PAY FROM ONE BANK TO ANOTHER! Now you can transfer money to professionals (electricians, plumbers etc.) using IRIS Online Payments, by entering only their TIN or their mobile number.
