Women's Entrepreneurship in the spotlight
The 1st NBG Business Seeds workshop focusing on women’s entrepreneurship was concluded with great success. The workshop involved teams bringing together women who participated in the 12th Innovation & Technology Competition, and was held online on 31.3.2022. The event was opened by the General Manager of Retail Banking, Ms Christina Theofilidi, who noted in her remarks that: “At NBG we are proud of our initiatives concerning both the work environment at the Bank and our financing offering. NBG lends tangible support to the status of women, respecting their multiple roles. Indeed, it was the first bank in Greece to hire a woman on its staff, way back in 1911. Today, 53% of our workforce is female. 30% of our Board members are women, while 55% of senior posts in our branch network are held by women. We are also the first bank to be member of the Bloomberg Gender Equality index for the 5th consecutive year”.
Thereafter, Ms Litsa Panagiotopoulou, Treasurer of the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce (former Secretary General), Ms Souzana Theodoridou, Start Up Program Manager Microsoft, Ms Sonia Mousavere, Head of Communications and PR, Bayer Hellas, Ms Myrto Papathanou, Partner Metavallon, Ms Katerina Pramatari, Professor at the Athens University of Economics & Business, and Partner Uni.fund, and Ms. Katerina Saridaki, Director, Capsule T Travel & Hospitality Accelerator, Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, took the floor.
The teams of the 12th Innovation & Technology Competition presented their innovative ideas, and then a discussion and mentoring ensued.
The event was attended by partner funds and organizations, as well as journalists from the field.
